NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY
14, 2013 – Calvin
Klein Collection announced today that the brands’ Women’s Creative Director, Francisco
Costa, presented his Fall 2013 Calvin Klein Collection on the runway
at the company’s New York headquarters earlier this afternoon. The runway show was
also streamed live on-line and can currently be viewed at explore.calvinklein.com.
Mr. Costa presented his latest collection to an audience which included
special guests, Oscar-nominated Jessica Chastain and actor Olivia Wilde – both
of whom were wardrobed in Calvin Klein Collection looks designed by Mr. Costa.
The women’s Fall 2013 Calvin Klein Collection struck a balance between
masculine and feminine lines. Bold silhouettes had an urban feel, featuring
strong shoulders and accented waists with gold plaque buckled belts. Textural
weaves and grid constructions in leather, alpaca and shearling created a
graphic statement, enhanced by a palette of dark blues and forest greens, as
well as classic black and snow. Looks were complemented with modern,
square-detailing on the season’s pumps, boots and gold framed bags.
Carolyn
Murphy, who walked in her first runway show for the brand in 1995,
closed today’s show, which also featured Karlie Kloss, Hilary Rhoda,
Elise Crombez and Suvi Koponen, who currently appears in the
brands’ Spring 2013 global advertising campaign. In addition to Ms. Murphy, Ms.
Crombez and Ms. Koponen, there were eight more exclusive models featured,
including Manuela, who opened the show, Julia S., Maggie, Patricia,
Stephanie, Anastasija, Dana and Iselin.
Photographer, blogger,
and model Hanneli Mustaparta, who is a contributor to Calvin Klein’s
official Tumblr blog (calvinklein.tumblr.com), was also on hand and wardrobed
in Calvin Klein Collection. For the women’s runway
show, Ms. Mustaparta posted behind the scenes photos of the Fall 2013 collection
on the brand’s Tumblr.
