On September 8, Waina Chancy of Atelier Ndigo, Lamin “Rey” Jaiteh of Rey Jaiteh and Chuks Collins will debut their Spring/Summer 2027 collections at Harlem’s Fashion Row’s 19th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards in New York City.
The three designers make up the inaugural cohort of the Runway Ahead Designer Fellowship program, launched by the PVH Foundation in partnership with ICON360, Harlem’s Fashion Row’s nonprofit organization. The fellowship brings the PVH Foundation’s Runway Ahead initiative to life by combining financial support, hands-on mentorship and industry access to help emerging designers strengthen their brands and build for long-term success. It also builds on PVH’s partnership with Harlem’s Fashion Row, which began in 2021 and has included initiatives supporting emerging talent and enabling greater access across the fashion industry.
Throughout the fellowship, each designer has received funding to develop and produce their collection, along with mentorship from PVH associates across Marketing & PR, Raw Materials & Sourcing, Merchandising, Finance, Production and Design.
Their New York Fashion Week debut marks the next milestone in the program, introducing their work to fashion executives, editors, stylists, retailers and other industry leaders.
One designer will receive the $100,000 Runway Ahead Prize to help accelerate the growth of their brand. PVH’s Rohit Burman, Reena Person and Alexandra Gardner will join Harlem’s Fashion Row CEO Brandice Daniel, Celebrity Stylist June Ambrose, GQ Fashion Director at Large Mobolaji Dawodu and Vanity Fair Fashion Director Nicole Chapoteau in selecting the recipient based on creative vision, craftsmanship, business potential and runway presentation.
Launched earlier this year with a $10 million investment through 2030, Runway Ahead reflects the PVH Foundation’s long-term commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation of fashion talent. Through partnerships including Harlem’s Fashion Row/ICON360 and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the initiative provides emerging designers and students with funding, mentorship and real-world experiences to help them build careers and shape what comes next.
