PVH Corp. Amplifies Gender Equality Efforts with UN Foundation Commitment

PVH Corp. has advanced our Forward Fashion priority to empower women by publicly aligning to the United Nations Foundation (UNF) commitment. This supports PVH’s efforts with the UNF’s focus on women’s health and economic empowerment programs across supply chains – and we call on our industry peers to do the same.

Our Empower Women goal – for professional and life skills development programs and services to be made available to 500,000 women across our supply chain by 2030 – recognizes that providing training and development programs and access to an ecosystem of essential services increases impact by addressing a broader range of needs for women. As we work towards our goal, we will continue to ensure women in our supply chain and communities are equipped with the health, empowerment and skill development programs and services they need to support successful lives.

Commenting on the announcement of our UNF commitment, PVH Chairman and CEO Manny Chirico remarked: “The vast majority of the workforce across the apparel value chain consists of women. Removing barriers to and creating opportunities for the advancement of women is an important focus area for us. Our Empower Women goal will not only further strengthen our commitment to have a positive impact on the women in our value chain, their families and their communities, but we hope that it will inspire others to join us in accelerating this essential work.”

To mark the announcement, Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility Marissa Pagnani McGowan joined the UNF and the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) for a virtual discussion titled ”Making the Invisible Visible: Driving Corporate Commitments on Gender Equality & Women’s Health for the Decade of Action.” McGowan spoke to our ongoing efforts to Empower Women through implementing programs like Gap Inc.’s Personal Advancement Career Enhancement (P.A.C.E.) program, to our increased transparency in data and reporting surrounding gender equality across our value chain. “We recognize the inherent value of prioritizing gender equality and women’s empowerment throughout our workforce and supply chain, and the necessity to partner with peers and likeminded organizations in order to drive long-term, structural change.”

Our commitment to empower women through the UNF commitment amplifies our gender equality efforts, and aligns us with peer companies, suppliers and consumers working together to drive our industry forward.
